born Hastings, New Zealand
crossed the world in the steam ship Oriana in 1967-68
grew up in Windermere, Lake District - North West England

both started out in search of serious artistic expression at early age (9&6) when they painted pictures all over their bedroom door, as nobody seemed to mind, they carried on with the back of the door, the rest of the doors in the house and then the stairs, the passage way and....

When they moved house as teenagers they filled the walls in their new bedroom with murals.

Helen went on to produce murals, outdoor paintings in fire places and walls in the uk and in castles, balconies and walls in Austria.

Ngaio, however, stuck to diligently developing her skills on canvas and paper of all kinds over the next few decades.

Helen and Ngaio studied art at school and sixth form college and both have carried on separate journeys of art discovery in their adulthood.
